George Mwale July 21, 1954 -September 17, 2021 (RIBA, BSc Arch, B Arch, Dip Arch, MAAB, MZIA)
Born in Kakwela village of Petauke District in Eastern Province, Zambia. George Mwale completed his education in David Kaunda Secondary School in 1972. After 16 years of pursuing higher education he eventually achieved the highest honors and became part of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
He contributed heavily to the architectural industry in all the countries he practiced spanning from the United Kingdom Zimbabwe, Botswana and finally in Zambia. He’s most notable project was Multi Million Government Project Information & Broadcasting Headquarters in Botswana of where he was a partner at Tswana Design Architects.
After 13 years in Botswana he finally wound up operations and moved back to Zambia to open his own practice in November 2007 which was to be called Ground Zero Architects as a Sole Proprietorship until his passing on 21st September 2021. On February 15, 2022 the firm was then converted to a limited company.
A devoted family man and exceptional professional recognized by all his peers. Ground Zero Architects has established itself as a household name in the Architectural Industry.
